Durham, N.C.DeDreana Freeman received the People's Alliance endorsement!  This endorsement underscores DeDreana’s values and her commitment to the community as a tireless advocate for equity and justice.  DeDreana was humbled by the overwhelming support for her candidacy.  "Durham is our home," she said.  "I am committed to keep working with folks from all across the city for an EQUITABLE and JUST Durham."

Durham, N.C. — DeDreana Freeman, a community advocate and President of the Inter-Neighborhood Council of Durham, officially announced her candidacy for City Council- Ward I today. A resident of the Golden Belt neighborhood, Freeman’s long history of civic engagement began when she was a young child, accompanying her mother to community meetings. In addition to serving on the Inter-Neighborhood Council, she currently holds leadership roles and serves as a member of a number of organizations, including the Durham City & County Planning Commission, Northeast Central Durham Leadership Council, and the Transportation Advisory Board. She is also a founding member of Durham Equitable Economic Partnerships, a nonprofit that aims to create affordable housing for marginalized minority communities.
